Great, but is it compatible with Chrome?

EDIT: I was, however, able to manually direct the flight to the other waypoint entitled "BBN" SSW of JBU170's location in the screenshot.

EDIT: if you look SSW of JBU170, there is another waypoint entitled "BBN". Could this be part of the issue?

Since ATL has come up... Would it be possible to get a traffic update there? It still has Airtrans and even Northwest in the airline repertoire.

You should type QUIT or EXIT into the same box where you type your ATC commands.

Also, you may not qualify for the high score board regardless of landings and handoffs if you have too many violations, missed approaches, or improper exits.

ATC-SIM POLL by Alex Thomas to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

Yeah...those were some of the top airports in one of the earlier polls, so they will be implemented sooner or later.

ATC-SIM POLL by Alex Thomas to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

Alright everybody,

The poll results are finally in! A whopping 39.4% of users voted for runway updates, which would mean closing old runways, building new ones, extending existing ones (you get the picture). Almost 30% voted for new aircraft/fleet updates (new aircraft orders and retirements).

Also, I will not be able to do any work on the site for the last 2 weeks of July. If anybody is interested in managing the site (even for just a couple of days), let me know and I will get you set up.

There needs to be a hard level with more arrivals and departures because the normal level is abit boring at times. by steve.cj682 to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

I would suggest trying an airport with more traffic (ATL, BOS, DFW, ORD) or changing the wind to make it more difficult to route aircraft.

You are most likely either cleared to intercept and cannot or you are above 3000 ft AGL.

ATC-SIM POLL by Alex Thomas to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

Hello all,

Only a couple of days remain in the current poll! If you are planning on voting, please go ahead and do so while you have the chance! Also, I would like to share some preliminary results with everybody. Many simmers are in favor of updating runways (e.g. runway extensions and closures), while quite a few others want to see new aircraft (A350s, 787s). If you think you have a good idea for ATC-SIM, go to the poll now and speak your mind!

Happy flying,

Alex

Cannot land at MCO by squeakmail to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

I would just approach on a longer final. If you look at the actual traffic pattern for most airports, planes will stay parallel and in line with their landing runway on approach. Also I would suggest clearing all incoming aircraft to 1,000 ft (unless that will cause violation problems). Another tip: at MCO, planes take off on the inner runways. That leaves the outer runways for arrivals. Hope this helps.

ATC-SIM POLL by Alex Thomas to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

Hello everyone,

After finishing my final exams and troubleshooting the website issues, the new poll is finally up and running! Most of the things on the poll are minor fixes, but if there's anything that you want to see added, feel free to speak your mind! As a reminder, you can find all the polls at (http://atc-sim.weebly.com/)[http://atc-sim.weebly.com/].

Happy controlling,

Alex

ATC-SIM POLL by Alex Thomas to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

Attention everyone,

New improvements are being made to the polling website. Firstly, I have added live feeds of airports so you can watch for traffic patterns and such. Also, I am working on a new poll, which will be released on Monday. Stay tuned for more updates, because there is surely much more to come!

ATC-SIM POLL by Alex Thomas to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

Hello everyone,

The first two polls have come to a close. Both received over 100 votes! Now for the results. The most popular were...

  • Chained commands

  • Ability to change takeoff runway

  • More realistic flight performance models

Stay tuned as I will post new polls (hopefully by the start of next week)

ATC-SIM POLL by Alex Thomas to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

av8nut,

Since I realize that this is more of a feasible plan (at least long-term), I think it may be a good idea to let Jay manage the website. However, I don't want to put any extra work on his shoulders. It might be possible to make the website creation platform accessible to certain approved users and Jay himself to create polls.

Also, I will not have much time this summer, as I will be playing baseball every week for the first 6 weeks and then be at a no-technology-allowed sleep-away camp for another 2 weeks. Not to put anyone in the spotlight, but if any of you are willing to manage the website for the time I'm at camp, I can give you the login and give you access to create polls and manage the site.

ATC-SIM POLL by Alex Thomas to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

Hey everybody...

Sorry I was gone for I while. I have finals coming up that I have to study for, so I haven't had much time to check the forum or work on the website.

I am going to make a new poll, so does anyone have any suggestions on what the topic should be?

ATC-SIM POLL by Alex Thomas to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

Hey all,

The airport poll has closed on the website, and the results are in. Many different airports were requested, but the most popular are...

  • Copenhagen

  • Kansas City

  • Bangkok

The features poll is still open, so make sure you cast your vote before it closes!

Hello everyone,

Sorry I was gone for a while. Anyways, the poll results will likely be tallied up around the end of the weekend or early next week, so speak your mind and cast your vote!

Having troubles. by coconut joe to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 1 point

Hello Joseph,

As the creator of the polling site, I want to make sure that everyone is able to submit their ideas. The voting interface is wired into a separate system (PollDaddy), so their servers may be down. I would suggest trying again at some other time or try to find a stronger internet connection to cast your vote.

And the forums. When I first started posting, it took days (if not weeks) for my comments to appear. However, since I am seeing your message now, you should be able to post just fine now.

Hope this helps.

is this worth the $20.00 by kieron.young to /forum/atc-sim

Alex Thomas 2 points

Yeah, of course!

I will use the example plane as N172SP.

For takeoffs - start with the plane ID (n172sp) then clear it (c) to a

departure altitude (9); N172SP is cleared to 9000 feet.

  • This would look like n172sp c 9.

Then you would want to say plane ID (n172sp) cleared to (c) the waypoint

(REEFS), which will appear in the sidebar with the plane; N172SP is cleared to waypoint REEFS.

  • This would look like n172sp c reefs

Finally, you would say either to line up and wait (w) or take off (t);

  • This would look like n172sp w or n172sp t

For landings - once the plane appears on the radar, clear it to one or

two thousand feet.

  • This would look like n172sp c 1 or n172sp c 2

Next, line your plane up on the heading of the runway that you want to land

on. Let's say you want to land on runway 17. Just add a 0 to the end of the

runway number to get a good heading (although this doesn't work every

time). Make sure you are lined up relatively centered on the runway for

your approach.

  • This would look like n172sp c 170

Finally, once you are below 3000 feet above ground level, clear the plane

to land. You can find the airport's elevation on the bottom right hand

corner of the screen. This command is formatted (Plane ID) (l) (Runway #)

  • This would look like n172sp l 17

I hope this helps!
